TD Bank and Royal Bank of Canada CSR Reports; Sodexo Greens Healthcare Cleaning - CSR Minute 4/17/12

In its 10th annual survey of operations, TD Bank reports that it has helped 115,000 Canadians regain control of their finances through the TD Helps program, and is the first bank in North America to operate net-zero facilities. TD Bank also gave more than $66 million dollars in 2011 to charities. Highlights reported by Royal Bank of Canada include the trading of 90 million tons of carbon credits and the powering of 134 retail branches with EcoLogo-certified green power.RBC also contributed $98 million dollars to community causes worldwide. Sodexo Environmental Services is using new technologies to support best practices in health care. Sodexo's technologies eliminate 90 percent of the chemicals and two-thirds of the water used in cleaning, which reduces hospital acquired infections, improves patient and staff satisfaction, and contributes to bottom line savings for the company's 1,700 hospital clients. Sodexo's program has reduced hospital infection rates and shortened cleaning times, reducing patient and staff exposure to chemicals.
